Apple Crisp

Perk up your crazy week with some Apple Crisp! This delicious recipe is the perfect healthy alternative to a filling desert, without all the sugar!


Filling:
5 med green apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tsp ea. lemon peel and orange peel grated
2 tbsp coconut palm sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
Toss all of this in a bowl and then place it in a baking dish.

Topping:
1 ¼ cup walnuts chopped (you can use any nut you like)
½ cup gluten free oat flour
¼ cup Perky Powder Original or Pro
¼ cup coconut butter, ghee, or vegan butter melted
¼ tsp ginger (fresh or dried)
1/3 cup coconut palm sugar
2 tbsp shredded unsweetened coconut
1 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Mix all dry ingredients then pour melted butter of your choice over the dry mixture and with your hands or fork, mix well until combined. It should be crumbly but not too dry if it is ,add a little more melted butter. Evenly distribute the topping on the apples then bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 mins. Or until top is golden brown and apples are tender.
